ANATOMY OF A JOURNEY

And so I am back in Canberra, after 4 months of vacation in my island home. It's good to be back even if it takes 'getting use to' being into the wife routine again.
The airport is always a comforting place for me to go to. I used to work there and some of my former colleagues (now very good friends) are still around and it's always a joy to see them again.

Here's the view from the airport restaurant where I was waiting for my friend to finish his duty. We had an early dinner of some sort while we waited for my flight to board.
I found these amusing. the restuarant had 'real' stainless steel forks, but plastic knives. it may not look like it because of the lighting
but it is made of those shiny metallic plastics (used for toy costume tiaras).

and here we go. on board the crappiest plane -- a Boeing 767. I can't believe QF uses it for long haul flights. and just FOUR cabin crews for the Entire economy class. My stomach was gurgling F-YOU noises by the time they reached my aisle.
after 8 hours, i arrive in Sydney airport. staring at the arrivals monitor while waiting for my coach to canberra.
and here i am on my final leg of the journey. a 3 hour greyhound coach to canberra.
