the greatest cook-off of the year

if there's one food that i could eat every single day for the rest of my life, that would be seafood. more so shrimp and crabs. they are just the most divine grub in the world! and if i could have one dream profession, i'd like to be a tasting judge for
the Great American Seafood cook off

This year's entries all look marvelous it must be tough having to choose just one!
Looking at all the nominees, my favorite would be the Shrimp and Andouille Cassoulet.

this absolutely mouth watering finalist is by Chef Brian Landry of Louisiana. Land of the marvelous craw fish pie and fillet gumbo! The US is really blessed to have such great abundance of local seafood. Just thinking of those alaskan crabs is enough to make me travel all the way there just for that! I'm guessing that the US doesn't have any shortage of seafood supply and internetional competitors. (Unlike Australia vs. Vietnamese/Thai/Chinese prawns)

Anyway, I love this recipe entry because it has a nice balance of shrimp, and a dash of andouille sausages--which is a favorite of my husband. i can clearly see us licking this platter clean.
lucky for me i can download the recipes of this, and all the other entries in the cook off
and while i love a great dose of parmesan in this recipe, i might skip the kidney or cannelli beans called for. i don't know, i just dont think beans and seafood would make a great mix.

But i'm still going to try out this recipe soon! So if you're a seafood lover like me, or simply would like a good recipe or two, hike over the the Great American Cook Off site and VOTE for your favorite recipe! You can even get the chance to win a prize package trip to New Orleans just by casting your vote--how cool is that??
